Running The Market...

Social media is everywhere these days and business' that don't latch on to this social phenomenon will be out of business before they know it. I am here to inform people about 3 different social platforms and three tips to help make the most  of the platforms in their digital campaigns.

1. www.facebook.com: This is the mother of all social media platforms. There are over 500 million people on facebook and it is continually growing, especially in the business world. According to http://econsultancy.com/us/blog/6619-four-best-practice-tips-for-facebook-advertising they say a great tip for utilizing facebook would be to "cross-reference targeting options when reporting." This is essentially means that when you find that target demographic you are looking for do a cross-reference and see if you can find any other demographic you were not searching for. Once this search is done you can concentrate your marketing fully on this healthy demographic. Another tip would be have a "vanity" url. This means that you have your company name in the facebook website so that consumers can easily find your page. For instance, if you were target your facebook website should look like: www.facebook.com/target. This makes searching for your company much easier. Another tip for marketers would be to create a "click through rate ratio." This will allow marketers to see how many people are clicking on their adds and how many people actually visit their website. This is an effective way to see if the money you are spending is being used properly. If you see a particular campaign is not going the way you want then shut it down and create a new one.

2. www.twitter.com: I just found a great website that has many tips on how to effectively use twitter the right way. The website is http://www.twitip.com/10-tips-to-be-effective-at-marketing-on-twitter/. Tip number one would be to know the difference between spamming and posting. For a business this can be crucial, because people who follow you don't want to read nonsense about you going to the grocery store. If they follow you its because they want to be informed about your business or your product. Make sure that when you decide to tweet that the message be conveyed clearly and keep people anticipating your tweets instead of tweeting every hour. Tip number two would be to engage in conversation with your followers. This will make them feel as if they are part of the company, and while you are doing this you can gain valued information such as complaints or maybe you have some people do surveys that would benefit your business. Tip number three would be make sure your twitter page looks nice. You want your twitter page to seen in a flattering light so I would recommend to hire someone to make sure your page is up to date and that it looks professional.

3. http://www.linkedin.com/: This is the most professional of all the social media websites. This is where a lot of people come to look for jobs. At http://www.socialmediaexaminer.com/6-powerful-linkedin-marketing-tips-for-small-businesses/ they have a handful of tips that will help you better utilize linkedin.com. Tip number one would be to create Linkedin ad campaigns. This is beneficial because you won't get a lot of views from random people but from people who are interested and may want to help you or maybe looking for a job. Tip number two would be to start a blog about your industry and post a link on your linkedin page so that people may visit. If an employer sees this and recognizes that you know what you are talking about then you might get a job offer out of it. Tip number three would be to get recommendations you attract more clients. According to http://www.socialmediaexaminer.com/6-powerful-linkedin-marketing-tips-for-small-businesses/, they say in order to get recommendations you have to give out recommendations. I mean "What better way to really market your business than by having your colleagues and clients share your expertise?"
